How long have you been at AFL:
I have been at AFL for one blessed year
What is your role:
- I wear many hats
- I am the most sincere loan officer
- I get to know my colleagues and enjoy hearing about their lives
- I serve in any way I can
- I’m also known for losing the most raffles in company history
Before working here, what was an interesting job you had:
I found my career and calling in this industry. Every job I’ve had has been interesting.
The most interesting was when I traveled across the country putting decals for a transportation company. There’s nothing too exciting about slapping stickers on trucks, but traveling through this wonderful nation was exciting.
What has been your favorite part of working here:
My favorite part of working here has to be the culture. Everyone has a great sense of humor which is terrific. We take our jobs seriously but have fun doing it. The energy you receive from the top down when stepping into the office or attending a team meeting remotely is second to no other place I’ve worked. It doesn’t feel like work, making time spent away from my family worth it. If I can get a little cheesy, it’s like my 2nd home.
If you could do any other job here what would it be:
I love what I do, but if I could spend my days doing something different, it would be starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. If I weren’t committed to this career, I would be playing professional basketball. Well, that and the fact is I’m a foot away from being 6’9”.
What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work:
My time is spent with my family when I’m not working. Whether it’s a sports practice for the kids or hosting family and friends at home, I’m a pretty mellow fellow who doesn’t enjoy jello.
What is your hidden talent:
Hidden talent I can share with the world would be my wonderful senses of humor, sensing of humor, sensed of humor? Anyway, I’m a funny guy. I love to laugh, and people don’t think that of me because of my poker face, which I picked up in my days of playing low-stakes poker with my grandma for prunes instead of money.
What is your favorite quote:
“Your words are speaking so loud, I can’t hear a word you’re saying.” I might’ve made that up. I can’t remember at this point so when in doubt take the credit.
Any other fun facts?
- Fun facts would be I love Christmas music ONLY during Christmas time.
- I’m not very sensitive
- I’m a really good singer but only when I’m alone
- I love to learn lessons…preferably the hard way
- One thing I cannot live without is oxygen
- I was bit by a spider when I was younger, and I’ve had these tingly kinda ‘spidey-senses ever since then.
