Senior Loan Officer Michael Iacouzze’s ability to nurture and educate goes far beyond the average mortgage professional. He knows how to navigate complex loans to find solutions that benefit homeowners in the short and long term. He has been an asset to the team since day one, so it’s no surprise that Michael is our March 2023 Employee Spotlight.

How long have you been at AFL:
May 2022
What is your role:
I am a Senior Loan Officer
Before working here, what was an interesting job you had:
Scooping Ice Cream at the Jersey Shore during high school, those waffle makers were brutal to operate. I have never felt more pressure than trying to make the perfect sundae with a line of 50-100 hungry people waiting after a long day at the beach.
What has been your favorite part of working here:
The culture and the people. Really feels like a family environment where everyone likes to see everyone else do well and we all have a common goal, to help our clients improve their financial situation. The team truly goes above and beyond to make sure we provide excellent customer service. The laughter and fun we have throughout the day sometimes makes it feel like I am not even at work.
If you could do any other job here what would it be:
Does AFL have any intramurals? Could see myself trying to get that rolling. Ball is life.
What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work:
I am a huge New York Giants fan and love the Yankees/Knicks as well. On weekends, you can find me playing golf somewhere! After a long week of work, it is a great way to relax and reset for me. Also, my wife and I love trying out new restaurants (preferably steakhouses searching for the perfect NY strip).
What is your hidden talent:
To say I am fluent would be a stretch, but I can speak enough Mandarin to hold a conversation.
What is your favorite quote:
“Never give up.” It is simple but says it all. No matter what your circumstances in life are, you just can’t quit. Just keep going, even when you feel like you have nothing left in the tank.
