Cultivating relationships that last beyond the average business transaction is the cornerstone of how Michael Kies approaches client interactions. Focused on making every experience positive, he has mastered this method as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer, as well as an Associate Real Estate Broker, and does it with ease. Michael is loved and admired by everyone he encounters, which is just one reason he’s our June 2022 Employee Spotlight.

How long have you been at AFL:
4.5 years

What is your role:
I am a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer and Associate Real Estate Broker

Before working here, what was an interesting job you had:
I have worked as a Realtor, licensed income tax preparer, notary public, travel agent, insurance agent, and cook at Jack in the Box when I was 16!

What has been your favorite part of working here:
Working side by side with one of my best friends on the planet in helping him grow a fantastic brand in this industry! Having the knowledge that a job well done for me means that I have truly helped an individual or family improve their lives on a very real and tangible level.

If you could do any other job here what would it be:
Growing the Real Estate division of AdvantageFirst Lending.

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work:
My absolute favorite thing to do outside of work is watching my two teen sons compete in their respective sports (water polo and basketball). I also LOVE traveling with my beautiful wife!

What is your hidden talent:
I am a very good judge of character. I can also roll my eyebrows in a waving motion. 🙂

What is your favorite quote:
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Any other fun facts?
My ancestors on my dad’s side immigrated to what is now the United States in 1685!
